SaveThePresidio.org is a grassroots initiative to save the Presidio from excessive development. We are united in our appreciation of the Presidio’s history and open space, and we believe that by acting together, we can preserve the Presidio for future generations. We work closely with various historical, environmental, and neighborhood organizations and individuals opposed to the plans to urbanize the Presidio.

We have actively engaged in various activities to increase public awareness on this important issue.

  • Sponsored a full-page ad in the San Francisco Chronicle
  • Presented at public hearings of the S.F. Landmarks Advisory Board and the S.F. Planning and Arts Commissions
  • Publicized by email and fliers upcoming events regarding Presidio development
  • Participated in public workshops sponsored by the Presidio Trust
  • Encouraged the public to send emails and letters and to sign our petition to the Presidio Trust and elected officials
